Coalition for a TB-Free NYC's first meeting on March 22, 2019

  • Thank you to everyone who attended our first coalition meeting, "A Call to Action," on March 22, 2019 at the NYC Department of Health's main office! 

​

  • 40 partners attended and represented a diverse group of stakeholders in TB care.

​

  • Farah Parvez, MD, MPH and Shaila Rao, Ed.D, MPH from the NYC Dept. of Health, Bureau of TB Control introduced the coalition and the committees that partners could join to work toward the common goal of TB elimination in NYC.

​

  • The Steering Committee will help plan Coalition meetings, determine objectives, and identify speakers. To join or learn more, contact tbfreenyc1@gmail.com.​​

  • The Strategic Planning Workgroup will help develop a strategic plan for TB elimination in NYC, monitor implementation, and share feedback with the Coalition. To join or learn more, contact tbfreenyc1@gmail.com.

The Coalition for a TB-Free NYC aims to prevent and eliminate TB in NYC through community engagement, public-private partnership, and innovation & research.
The Coalition unites various stakeholders across traditional and non-traditional industries, disciplines, and care levels to develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic plan to eliminate TB in NYC. The Coalition’s work will be guided by a human rights-, social justice- and patient-centered approach.
