Representatives from local and state Health Departments informed attendees about updated recommendations for TB screening, testing, and treatment of Healthcare Personnel (HCP).

Dr. Lynn Sosa, MD, Lead Author and TB Controller for Connecticut Department of Public Health, presented on the Updated Recommendations for TB Screening, Testing, and Treatment of Healthcare Personnel (HCP), an MMWR published in May. Presentation HERE.

Coalition for A TB-Free NYC's June meeting on June 21, 2019

Jillian Knorr, MPH from the NYC Dept. of Health, Bureau of TB Control, Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit presented an NYC Epidemiological Overview of TB among Health Care Workers and in Healthcare-associated Settings.

Dr. Margaret Oxtoby, MD, TB Controller for NY State facilitated a discussion on the implications of the new health care personnel testing and treatment recommendations for NY.

​Permissive document has been released allowing hospitals to relax serial testing policy and conserve their resources of PPD as there is a current shortage of Aplisol PPD. Document HERE.​
